Good packaging protects, carries, promotes the product and eases marketing.
Packaging is the outer covering made of metal, paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, etc. that protects products from external effects and, by keeping them together, eases transport, storage, distribution, promotion and marketing. In short, packaging is a protector with a product inside; it shields the product from impact, moisture and damage and ensures it reaches the consumer in the most economical way.
With the information it carries (weight, price, production and expiry dates, contents, manufacturer, usage notes, etc.) it gives the consumer ease of choice and use. Correct packaging reduces product damage and waste, lowers costs, aids control, in some cases helps protect against germs, informs at the point of sale and protects the product against imitation.
